Guardians of the Galaxy #11.NOW
The Guardians of the Galaxy showed up at the end of All-New X-Men last week, and it's about to get good.  Now that Jean Grey is back on Earth, all the intergalactic threats are headed to Earth to take her out.  The Guardians and the X-Men are going to try to keep her safe in this crossover event.  Should be fun!

Superior Spider-Man #26
Another prelude to Goblin Nation.  If you read last week's Superior Spider-Man Team-Up, you'll know why I'm excited about this one.  This is going to be a great storyline with the Green Goblin, and we're going to finally get Peter Parker back.  This issue is going to have a showdown between the Green Goblin and the Original Hobgoblin!

This limited series is written by George A. Romero, the king of zombies.  If that doesn't make you want to go out and pick up this book, you're in the wrong place.

Be sure to pick up:

Superior Spider-Man #25
This is a special double-sized issue that celebrates the one-year anniversary of Superior Spider-Man.  It was announced this week that Spider-Man will relaunch with Amazing Spider-Man #1 in April, so this issue is going to begin to set up the final Goblin-centric storyline to end the series.  We'll get to see more of how Spider-Man deals with the new Superior Venom, which he created because he's a jerk. Seriously, get it together Otto.

Night of the Living Deadpool #1
This limited series is written by the same guy who did the Deadpool Killogy, so you know it will be fun.  Deadpool has to take on the zombie apocalypse, and the Merc with a Mouth has to avoid becoming the Merc in their Mouths.  The series is also in black and white (and red), just like the Walking Dead.  Should be fun stuff.

NASCAR '14 Gets a Release Date

NASCAR '14 was announced a few months ago, but today we finally got a release date, and it's a lot sooner than you think: February 18, 2014.

The new game will be the third by Eutechnyx and Activision, following NASCAR The Game: 2011 and NASCAR The Game: Inside Line.

The game also got a new trailer, which can be viewed below.

Well, what do you think?  I know I'll be picking this game up, but many fans have complained about less-than-stellar online play and glitchy single-player play.  Will you be picking this game up when it launches next month?

Weekly Pull List: 1/8/2014

This week features a lot of good comics, including two featuring everyone's favorite Canadian mutant Wolverine, and another issue in the superb Marvel Knights: Spider-Man miniseries.  To see all the comics available this week, head to Comixology.

DC Comics
Green Arrow #27
Green Lantern #27

Image Comics
The Walking Dead #119

Marvel
Cataclysm: Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #3 (of 3)
Deadpool #22
Deadpool: The Gauntlet Infinite Comic #1
Iron Man #20
Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #4 (of 5)
Savage Wolverine #14.NOW
Wolverine #13

Monkeybrain
D4VE #2

Be sure to pick up:

Wolverine #13
This is the conclusion of the storyline "Killable," which has been absolutely fantastic.  Wolverine has to face off against Sabretooth without his healing factor.  They've done the whole "no healing factor" thing way better than The Wolverine did this summer, and it's been interesting to see how Wolverine reacts to not being able to rely on his healing abilities.

Deadpool: The Gauntlet #1

Infinite Comics are nothing new for Marvel.  They're special comics that are set up for your tablet, and they're pretty cool.  This is the first issue of an all-new 13-part weekly series leading up to Deadpool's wedding.  This issue actually released Tuesday on the Marvel Comics app, and it's pretty funny.  It's totally worth it, even if just for the James Bond credit sequence to start the issue.

D4VE #2
This comic is about a robot who is going through a mid-life crisis.  I loved issue #1, and at only $0.99, it's a great deal on Comixology.  I quickly fell in love with this comic after just one issue, which is extremely rare.  Pick this up, seriously.

That's my pull list for another week.  What comics are you picking up this week? Comment below with your picks for the week!

Top 10 Movies of 2014

Last year, I counted down the 10 movies I was looking forward to the most in 2013.  It was one of the most popular posts of the year, and it was exciting to look forward to all the movies coming out in 2013.  So I'm going to do it again this year, with my top 10 movies of 2014!  (Side note: all release dates are subject to change, and the dates are linked to each movie's respective IMDb page.)

10. Devil's Due (January 7)
This movie seems like a stupid horror movie that will probably be bad, but I'm in.  I love movies like this, and it looks pretty good.  Apparently some woman is going to give birth to the antichrist?  I'm not sure, but it sure will be fun.

9. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1(November 21)
I still haven't seen Catching Fire, but I love Jennifer Lawrence and I really liked the first one.  I'll see this one eventually, but I probably won't see it opening weekend or anything.

8. Captain America: Winter Soldier (April 4)
Captain America is my least favorite Avenger, but that won't stop me from seeing this opening weekend.  When this movie rolls around, Phase 2 will be winding down, and then we'll be one step closer to the Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

7. 22 Jump Street (June 13)
I loved 21 Jump Street.  Channing Tatum is so funny, and he and Jonah Hill have a great chemistry together.  The trailer looks funny, and I'm excited for this movie to come out.  Very few movies made me laugh as hard as 21 Jump Street.

6. The Lego Movie (February 7)
A movie about legos.  What else could anyone want?

5. Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1)
I've been reading the new Guardians of the Galaxy series that started with Marvel NOW, and it's been pretty good.  I'm excited to add more stuff to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and who doesn't love some Avengers in space?
This early promotional photo was released by Disney a few days ago.  Look! A talking Raccoon and a tree that sounds like Vin Diesel!
4. Godzilla (May 16)
I grew up watching Godzilla movies, and I think the world is ready for a new Godzilla.  I'm optimistic that it won't be as bad as Godzilla from 1998.  Just check out the trailer and tell me that isn't the most exciting thing you've ever seen.

3. The Hobbit: There and Back Again (December 17)
The Desolation of Smaug was awesome, and it left on such a cliffhanger that I can't wait for December to roll around to see Bilbo's adventure end.  Yeah, I already know how it ends, but the journey is the fun part.  I love Middle Earth.

2. X-Men: Days of Future Past (May 23)
I recently re-watched all the X-Men movies, and I'm really excited for this movie.  First Class was definitely one of the best X-Men movies, and this continuation will be great.  It won't follow the comic book, but that's fine by me.  Just give me a great action movie with some mutants.

1. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (May 2)
I absolutely loved the Amazing Spider-Man, and I can't wait to see this movie.  I don't even care that the Rhino looks dumb, or the Green Goblin isn't Norman Osborne.  Spider-Man is my favorite comic book character, and the trailer made me a million times more excited for May.

There you have it!  Now that you've seen my Top 10, what movies are you most looking forward to in the coming year?  Leave a comment below with your picks!

Weekly Pull List: 1/1/2014

Happy New Year!! 2014 kicks off on a Wednesday, which means it's the first pull list of the new year!  As always, you can check out all the comics available on Comixology.

Dark Horse Comics
  • The Star Wars #0: This is a companion to the eight-issue mini series of George Lucas' original draft of Star Wars.  This series has been good, and this issue features never-before-seen concept art and other fun stuff that will interest a fan of this series.

DC Comics
  • The Flash #26: This series is always a fun read, and this week brings a stand-alone story.  The Flash must figure out how to use his powers where he's least powerful -- the sky!

Marvel
  • Guardians of the Galaxy #10: This book has been running alongside the Infinity storyline that concluded a few weeks ago, and this issue will continue to follow Angela and Gamora as they go hunting for (most likely) Thanos.
  • Savage Wolverine #13: This Wolverine book is a nice change of pace from the other books out right now, and this issue continues the story that began in issue #12.
  • The Superior Foes of Spider-Man #7: This is one of the funniest comics Marvel is putting out.  I really don't have much to say about what goes on in this issue, but you should pick it up if you aren't already reading it.

That does it for another week of comics.  Let us know what you're picking up this week by leaving a comment below!
